Testing New Whistle

Right, so this isn't a new song. I know. I was away last week and haven't focused on anything properly music-related beyond ordering a new whistle (exciting! :D). It came in the mail and here's my video testing it. It's a Generation Bb, and very squeaky, but I'm not sure if that's because there's something wrong with it, or if that's because I'm not playing it well. At any rate...this will probably be my last post before school starts again, so I think I can call my Summer Project officially done. I didn't do as well as I would have liked, but I'm still happy with my progress. Here's my latest list of session tunes that I know:

Planxty Irwin Jig
Eleanor Plunkett Waltz
The Butterfly Slipjig
Jim Ward's Jig
The Snowy Path Slipjig
The Banshee Reel
Tobin's Favourite Jig
The Lilting Banshee Jig
John Ryan's Polka
Kesh Jig
My Darling Asleep Jig
Dunmore Lasses Reel

I'm pretty happy with that. :D

As for the song in this video...the first bit is just me playing around, and then the second is The Water is Wide. Should be recognisable.

    1. Go raibh maith agat! Glad to hear it! Your comment is making me realise how long it's been since I've updated this blog, though. I really need to get on that... I'd love to hear you play if you ever get any videos/audio of your songs. It's always encouraging to find other people who enjoy Irish music. :)
